• “Photographs really are experience captured, and the camera is the ideal arm of consciousness in its acquisitive mood”

• “Photographs furnish evidence. Something we hear about, but doubt, seems proven when we're shown a photograph of it.

-Photographs help capture moments that we could forget about, capturing us at the moment.

John Berger Ways of Seeing Ch7:

• “The purpose of publicity is to make the spectator marginally dissatisfies with his present way of life.”

• “Money is life. Not in the sense that without money you starve. Not in the sense that capital gives one class power over the entire lives of another class. But in the sense that money is the token of, and the key to, every human capacity. The power to spend money is the power to live”

-We need money to establish power and our lives and publicity is to show the way of life whether others like it or not.
